Why we are building Mosaic
Medical knowledge is growing faster than any one physician can fully keep up with. At the same time, the record of an individual patient is getting longer. The information exists, but it is spread across reports, letters, lab results, notes, and years of care. Answering a clinical question therefore often requires reconstructing two things first: what medicine knows about the condition and what the record says about this patient.
Mosaic is built to bring the two together. We structure patient information from the existing record into a longitudinal view. The patient record becomes something clinicians can ask questions about in natural language, with every answer traceable to its source. For clinical questions, Mosaic adds medical evidence — guidelines, drug information, and medical literature, with citations.
Our aim is to make relevant information available in the context of the patient when the clinical question arises. Mosaic supports the information work; clinical judgment and decisions remain with the physician.
