Medication

  • Vitamin D3 2,000 IUOne tablet daily, with a meal · Vitamin D was 17 ng/mlNew

What you do

  • Move 150 minutes a weekModerate: brisk walking, cycling, swimming. Five times thirty minutes, or three times fifty. Something you will still do in March.
  • Alcohol below 100 g a weekThat is about one bottle of wine over the whole week, not two glasses an evening. The liver values and the triglycerides answer within weeks.
  • Weight 89 kg by MarchFive percent. Slower is fine; the direction is what December measures.
  • Measure your blood pressure for seven days before the December visitMorning and evening, seated, after five minutes of rest, two readings each time.

The decision in December

  • LDL below 100 and ApoB below 100: continue without a tabletNext check in September.
  • LDL 100 or above, or ApoB above 100: a statin conversationThe guideline says “should be considered” at your risk; your lipoprotein(a) argues for starting rather than waiting. If it is close, a coronary calcium score settles it.

When to call us

  • Chest pain, or breathlessness that is new when you climb stairsThe same day. Not because we expect it; because the rule applies to everyone.
