Your visit on 16 September 2026

Shared by Dr. med. Sarah Weber, 16 September 2026

What we discussed

You came in feeling tired for the last three months and wanted to talk about your heart risk after your father's heart attack at 58.

We looked at your blood results from May, your home blood pressure readings from last week, and your family history.

What we found

Your LDL cholesterol is 162 mg/dl, above the level we aim for given your blood pressure and your family history.

Your average home blood pressure was 136/86, slightly above the target of 130/80. Your HbA1c of 5.9 % is in the prediabetes range: not diabetes, but a signal to act now.

What we decided

  • Start atorvastatin 20 mg in the eveningA different molecule from the simvastatin you stopped in 2024
  • Increase ramipril from 5 mg to 10 mg in the morning
  • Measure your blood pressure at home for one week before the next visit
  • Blood test in eight weeks, and lipoprotein(a) once
  • Tetanus and diphtheria booster given today
