Yes, that is a sensible question. With your values and your father's heart attack at a young age, it is worth checking your daughter's cholesterol once.
Her own doctor can do that. I am also adding one test to your November blood draw, lipoprotein(a), which is measured once in a lifetime and tells us more about whether this runs in the family.
